Position Summary
Kennedy’s Care Enterprise, Inc. is seeking hardworking, reliable, dedicated, and caring Direct Care Workers to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential group home setting.
Direct Care Workers assist residents with daily routines, personal care needs, household tasks, safety, and community living support. This position is a good fit for individuals who are patient, dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on care environment.
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Essential Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities in a residential group home setting.

Support residents with personal care, hygiene, meals, dressing, grooming, and daily routines as needed.

Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful home environment.

Support residents with community living skills, independence, and social interaction.

Follow care plans, staff instructions, and agency procedures.

Communicate respectfully with residents, coworkers, supervisors, families, and visitors.

Observe and report changes in resident behavior, health, or needs to appropriate staff.

Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and organizing common areas.

Help residents participate in daily activities and routines.
-
Follow safety procedures, confidentiality rules, and resident rights expectations.

Respond appropriately during emergencies or challenging situations.
-
Complete required documentation, logs, or reports as assigned.

Perform other duties as needed to support residents and home operations.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
-
Direct Care Certification preferred; training may be provided if necessary.

CPR / First Aid training required or must be completed as part of onboarding.

Valid driver’s license required.

Physical and TB test required.
-
Must pass required background check.

Must be punctual and dependable.

Must be willing to learn and accept direction from supervisors.

Must be able to work at least one weekend shift.

Must be caring, patient, professional, and respectful.

Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a group home, Adult Foster Care home, residential care setting, or human services environment.

Experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Experience with personal care, caregiving, home care, or direct support services.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Schedule
Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Candidates must be willing to work at least one weekend shift.
