Position Overview
Easterseals MORC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of the individuals we serve. This role supports clinical staff by preparing patients for care, collecting and documenting medical information, assisting with treatments, and ensuring safe, high-quality clinical operations.
This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and motivated to work in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Preparation & Clinical Support

Obtain and document patient medical history summaries

Take and record vital signs (e.g., weight, blood pressure) in the electronic medical record

Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures as needed
Clinical & Laboratory Duties
-
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
-
Perform basic laboratory testing on-site as permitted
-
Dispose of contaminated supplies in accordance with safety protocols
Medication Administration

Schedule and administer medication injections as ordered by medical staff

Ensure compliance with medication administration standards (right patient, medication, dose, route, and documentation)

Instruct patients on medications and special diets

Order and obtain injectable medications from on-site or off-site pharmacies

Authorize medication refills and communicate prescriptions to pharmacies as directed
Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Medical Assistant Certification required (AAMA or CCMA)

Valid Michigan driver’s license required

Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team

Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care
