SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER – WATER DEPARTMENT
Pay Scale: $14.34 - $16.84 per hour
General Summary: This position works under the direction of the supervisor and/or
department staff member selected, performs maintenance, painting, and cleaning of
department grounds, including the water treatment plant, elevated storage tanks, well
houses, and high service pump area. Assists in water meter reading, hydrant maintenance,
locating service line curb stop locations, updating department data using computerized
methods, organizing records, and other related work.
Minimum Requirements: Education equivalent to completion of eleventh (11th) grade and at
least six (6) months general laborer experience, or equivalent combination of education and
experience; possession of valid Michigan driver’s license and safe driving record.
Hours per Week: Varies based on position.
Employment Duration: Not to exceed nine (9) months, depending on hours worked
