Part Time Nursing Success Coach
Location: On Site - University Center, MI

Starting Salary: $32.28 – $36.16 per hour; Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
Position Summary:
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion in students, faculty, and staff.
The Nursing Success Coach plays a key role in promoting the success of nursing students from clinical entry through graduation. The position involves direct student support by identifying barriers to success, assisting with academic and clinical skills, and connecting students to resources. Additional responsibilities include marketing the ADN to BSN 3+1 program with SVSU, student recruitment, advising, data collection, community outreach, and retention initiatives. This is a grant-funded, part-time role through August 31, 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
Mentoring:

Serve as an academic mentor and coach.

Provide nursing content-specific coaching and tutoring.

Develop personalized retention activities and success plans.

Collaborate with faculty to implement strategies that promote academic success.

Monitor academic progression, retention, and graduation rates.

Support development of student skills such as time management and test-taking.

Review and award students eligible for grant funding.

Report awards and maintain up-to-date participant data.

Submit required grant reports.

Assist with policies, communications, records, and retention-related documentation.

Monitor student performance indicators and support students at academic risk.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with an active, unencumbered Michigan RN license.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Additional Experiences Considered:

Master of Science in Nursing (preferred) or a related master’s degree.

Prior teaching experience in nursing education (didactic or clinical).

Experience with student success or retention programs.
