The Business & Technology Discipline at Delta College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track ASEP/AUTO Instructor dedicated to equity, retention, and completion. This position includes face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction, and may include evening and off-campus teaching at Delta’s Downtown Centers and Dual Enrollment partner schools.
Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions

Teach a full annual load (30 equated credit hours) across various settings and modalities.

Participate in departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings and events.
Position Responsibilities
-
Teach a broad range of Automotive and GM/ASEP courses in classroom and lab settings.
-
Prepare and evaluate course syllabi and instructional materials.
-
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
-
Provide student advising related to academic progress and college policies.
-
Recommend curriculum improvements and textbook updates.
-
Maintain a safe lab environment and model safety procedures.
-
Participate in advisory committees and act as liaison with leadership on program content and delivery.

Provide support for student retention, career readiness, and skill development.
-
Maintain professional development and current knowledge in the field.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Education, or related field
-
Associate’s degree in Automotive Service
-
4,000 hours of on-the-job automotive technician experience
-
ASE Master Certification
-
ASE G1 Certification (within 90 days of hire)
-
ASE L1 Certification (within 90 days of hire)
-
Demonstrated ongoing professional growth
-
Flexibility in teaching schedule and delivery formats
Additional Experiences Considered

ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification (for Heavy Duty Diesel Program)

ASE A9 and L3 certifications
-
EPA Section 609 Certification
-
GM MTC World Class Certification
-
Experience teaching dual enrollment, college courses, or diverse student populations

Knowledge of emerging technologies: electric vehicles, hybrid systems, alternative fuels
