Contract Dental Hygienist
Location: Muskegon Correctional Facility – Muskegon, MI
Pay: $45.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday through Friday | No weekends or holidays

Overview:
Care One, a Michigan-based staffing agency serving the Department of Corrections for over 30 years, is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist for a contract position at Muskegon Correctional Facility. This is a unique opportunity to provide essential dental care in a secure and structured environment.
Responsibilities:

Perform dental cleanings including polishing, scaling, and root planing

Remove plaque, calculus, and stains from tooth surfaces

Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment plans

Take and process dental radiographs using bitewing and periapical films
-
Assist the dentist during restorative, surgical, and endodontic procedures

Identify early signs of oral disease and refer findings to the dentist

Maintain accurate dental treatment records and manage patient scheduling
Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program

Active Dental Hygienist license in the State of Michigan

Current Anesthesia Certification

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills

Comfortable working in correctional healthcare environments

High attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
