POSITION SUMMARY
Spicer Group is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Municipal Service Group as a Project Engineer in our Saginaw office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualizes the initial design approach for major phases of large projects or has overall responsibility for the engineering work on projects of limited scope.
- Prepares construction drawings in Auto CAD Civil 3D, high level engineering calculations, and technical specifications.
- Coordinates and communicates with team members, clients, contractors, outside consultants, utility companies, and project stakeholders.
- May serve as a liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design team members.
- Researches design requirements and provides project specific technical information to the design staff and Project Manager for incorporation into the project specifications and construction drawings
- Prepares plans in Auto CAD Civil 3D for submittal to various agencies, design and quantities, construction documents, and all supporting documentation.
- Coordinates with other engineers, technicians, and administrative assistants during preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to standards and requirements, including applicable state and federal requirements.
- Makes recommendations for additions, deletions, or substitutions when modifications are necessary.
- Makes periodic visits to construction sites as appropriate to monitor the quality and progress on construction projects.
- Prepares correspondence, technical specifications, and reports.
- Prepares cost estimates, periodic reports covering construction activities, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment.
- Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
- Design, develop, and support ARC GIS Pro maps and geodatabases.
- May be assigned as supervisor to technicians, designers, or entry level engineering staff.
- High productivity, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work well in a dynamic team environment.

EDUCATION / REGISTRATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive municipal engineering work related to design and construction administration with increasing responsibility.
