This Supplier Manufacturing Quality Engineer role is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced manufacturing or quality engineer who thrives at the intersection of supplier development, product launches, and continuous improvement. You will serve as the technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners-ensuring vehicles reach production with zero disruptions and uncompromising quality.
Pay
Projected Hourly Rate: $46.06 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical interface between manufacturing suppliers and internal engineering teams
Implement commodity-specific manufacturing and quality strategies to ensure launch readiness and long-term performance
Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to resolve supplier quality, delivery, or capacity issues
Provide on-site leadership during supplier emergencies, troubleshooting, containment, and corrective actions
Ensure zero production losses or vehicle disruptions related to supplier performance
Enforce compliance with quality systems, manufacturing standards, and supplier requirements
Conduct early manufacturing feasibility assessments to support smooth program launches
Lead and support the Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process execution
Analyze supplier performance using data-driven metrics to drive continuous improvement
Support supplier development initiatives to strengthen long-term manufacturing capability

Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
8+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, quality engineering, process planning, or product launches
Extensive experience with interior manufacturing systems such as seating, instrument panels, consoles, headliners, door panels, restraints, or seat structures
Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes including stamping, welding, molding, plastic and rubber processing, assembly automation, paint, or finishing operations
Proven experience with quality methodologies including Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process
Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and corrective action skills
Ability to travel up to 70% to supplier locations
Preferred Experience
Automotive industry background
Familiarity with automotive quality standards and supplier certification systems
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and supplier leadership
