Veoneer US Safety Systems, LLC has an opening for the position of Calibration Engineer (Ref# CE69JZG).
Work Location: 26360 American Drive, Southfield, MI 48034. Position may telecommute/work remotely 2 days per week. Position requires 5-10% domestic travel.
Job Duties: Comprehend and calibrate new algorithms, understand the specific needs of customers, specify new algorithm features, and support validations. Understand crash testing data, process it into the company format, and present it for review. Simulate deployment times from a crash algorithm using company standard calibration tools. Open, modify, and change calibrations. Organize team calibrations. Present calibration strategy, options, and trade-offs to the customer. Negotiate the calibration sign-off directly with the customer. Organize peer reviews where the work is presented for review. Review and sign-off on the calibration results from the Algorithm Validation Test Stand. Create calibration reports. Read and understand the crash algorithm specification. Open and understand MATLAB/Simulink model/script. Read and understand customer specifications for airbag module crash algorithm. Modify/create crash algorithm specifications, Simulink or MATLAB model, and S/W validation plans. Present current or new algorithms to the customer. Attend recurring algorithm meetings with the customer.
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Algorithm Engineer or related experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with calibrating algorithms and MATLAB. 40hrs/week.
