Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union in delivering its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. The Branch Leader I will fulfill this mission by living out the core values in every service contact with both internal and external members.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Branch Leader I, the role involves leading a team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and team potential. This includes hiring, onboarding, designing development plans, assigning goals, monitoring performance, coaching, training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational strategic plans, policies, and work rules.
Oversee the visual standards of branch facilities, collaborate with Facilities/Marketing for any branch needs. This role will also include managing branch operations within set budgets, analyzing variances, and ensuring expenditures remain within limits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following statements describe the general nature of work performed. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Complete orientation for new employees and actively participate in cross-training personnel.
- Collaborate with Branch Operations Director and HR for hiring and performance management.
- Monitor industry trends in deposit operations and propose development activities to maintain competitive products/services.
- Resolve member complaints and handle member questions about financial needs.
- Oversee audit processes for new accounts and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act.
General Sales Expectations:
- Build relationships with members and offer products and services to meet their financial needs.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new members.
- Ensure members are fully served and satisfied with their experience.
Other Duties:
- Answer phones and handle member inquiries.
- Process mail as required.
- Attend educational functions as required.
- Maintain a good knowledge of credit union products and services.
Qualifications and Expectations:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must meet the following requirements:
- 3-5 years of similar or related experience.
- 1 year of previous banking or credit union experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of all credit union products and services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to move or transport up to 25 pounds and remain stationary for 2-4 hours at a time.
Work Environment:
The employee must maintain a neat and orderly work area and ensure confidentiality of credit union staff and members.
