TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LEADER I
Exempt
Reports to: Vice President Technology
Essential Duties

- Manage resources to create and maintain a secure, compliant, and non-vulnerable technology environment.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in technology.
- Enact meaningful impact on the credit union’s financial sustainability goals.
- Execute credit union strategies especially including efficiencies and process improvement.
- Create and maintain high levels of quality service by delivering on the Credit Union’s Service Promises in every service situation.
- Develop a team that has a passion for strategic progress and strives for continuous improvement.
- Effectively communicate IT needs, statuses, issues, outages, and updates according to established communication procedures
- Ensure the success of vendor relations, systems monitoring, and security of technology and information.
- Ensure maintenance and functionality of Information Technology systems. Maintain contact with service providers for scheduling of service, maintenance, and license renewal.
- Collaborate with IT Leadership to identify issues, solve problems, improve our environment, and coordinate assistance with projects.
- Manage ticket queues for the team(s) to ensure work is done in a timely manner and communication is up to standard.
- Develop project plans with project leader(s) including procedures, documentation, deadlines, accountability, and user impact.
- Knowledgeable regarding network, server, VDI, automation, security, cloud, AI, and programming terms, designs, and concepts.
- Mentor and educate IT team members including knowledge for role, ensuring our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), and core values are on display and incorporated into daily activities.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist with evaluating business needs, objectives, and goals to research products available and design solutions to best meet those needs.
- Assist with ensuring information systems are compliant with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the design, testing, and reporting results of the Information Technology portion of the credit union’s Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure preservation of service, assets, and security.
- Assist with creating and maintaining IT technical and logical standards and frameworks.
- Develop, document and oversee Information Technology systems procedures.
- Ensure backup and retention procedures are followed and tested.
- Lead and coach employees to ensure that they are meeting expectations and striving to exceed expectations by seeking improvement through personal development plans. Make recommendations for training/disciplinary action if necessary.
- Write, update, and conduct monthly developmental coaching for department staff, including 6-month performance summaries.
- Document coaching conversations for policy and procedural violations or inadequate performance of employees and recommend disciplinary action to the VP of Technology and Human Resources before the action is taken.
- Ensure team members are trained for their job duties and cross trained in related positions.
- Provide training and onboarding for new department employees. Emphasis should be placed on our culture, mission, vision, employee value proposition (EVP), brand promise, and core values from the beginning.
- Schedule and delegate departmental activities to ensure accomplishment of required duties and responsibilities. May occasionally assist staff with the performance of their assigned duties.
- Maintain technical knowledge and leadership skills by attending educational opportunities, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Prepare pre and post write-ups on the educational experiences and ideas for implementation.
- Create, maintain, and communicate change control within the Technology team.
- Ensure documentation is complete and reviewed annually.
- Ensure projects and tasks are completed with security in mind.
- Collaborate with the Security Analyst to remediate audit findings and conduct security analysis throughout the whole project life cycle.
- Collaborate with the Director Team to identify technology needs and inform them of progress and trends.
- Collaborate with all departments to identify and complete Process Improvement projects.
- Create and maintain inventory and update/replacement schedules for software, hardware, and processes.
- Special projects, research, analysis, and other duties as assigned.
