BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE LEADER I

Reports to: Strategic Development Director
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Essential Duties
- Through leadership, create an engaging environment for team members to allow for development.

- Ensure the use of data analytics and intelligence as a core function of our business processes and decision-making. Support the organization with insights and predictive models to produce improved results and impact.
- Generate valuable, evidence-based and actionable insights that drive growth, maximize efficiency, and reduce friction for our employees and members. Focus on people-to-people interactions, storytelling, knowledge sharing and innovation.
- Provide governance on the configuration, functionality, applicability, and usability of data management, data analytics, and data visualization solutions, including peer data, member data, voice of the employee, voice of the member, and industry data.
- Supports development and implementation of the strategic plan and roadmaps.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead a member first mindset, developing a data informed position on who current and target markets are; implement strategies and tactics that grow the credit union and retain valuable members.
- Maintain data management operations in line with strategy; keep all team members informed and supported.
- In relation to internal research: interpret and storyboard all data to raise the knowledge level of others; advise on utilization of the results. Develop scorecard to set benchmarks and recommend necessary improvements.
- Lead employees of the Data Intelligence team, interviewing potential employees, arranging work schedules, maintaining, and submitting records on employee hours, and developing performance. Coach team to use effective research and analytical skills.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise and departmental projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meeting stakeholder needs.
- Assist Strategic Development Director with internal research and data collection dependent on the needs of the strategic plan. Collaborate with and assist teams in conducting external research.
- Assist the Strategic Development Director to develop and deliver an annual team strategy that aligns with corporate and business level strategies; work with team to connect strategy to performance goals and report on progress to Strategic Development Director each month.
- Own and manage data systems. Creating and maintaining procedures for critical system functions and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop, maintain, and track departmental budget including systems costs, annual fees, education, etc.
- Provide reporting and analytical support to business unit initiatives and ongoing business operations.
- Build relationships and encourage collaboration among internal departments and outside firms/vendors to ensure successful executions.
- Help to identify and communicate any foreseen roadblocks or challenges interfering with strategic progress.
- Interface with staff and/or members as needed to convey intended goal.
- Offer insight, thoughts based on experience, and ideas on strategies and projects to ensure positive outcomes.
- Attend educational opportunities and meetings as required. Prepare pre and post write-ups on the educational experience and ideas for implementation.
- Assist with reporting on strategic measures of success.
- Fulfill other duties that may be assigned outside of the above specifics.

- Ability to move or transport up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment
- Must maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Routinely clean and disinfect work areas (i.e. teller stations, desk surfaces, phones, electronic equipment).
- Protect the confidentiality of credit union staff and members by locking door or removing items from desk/workstation when away.
Education and Experience
- Three to five years similar or related experience
- A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
- One to three years of experience in management or supervisory capacity.
- Five years to ten years of data analytics or related experience.
- Knowledgeable with SQL server integration services, stored procedures, views and extract, transform, load (ETL).
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service, including the ability to design, develop, and integrate data sources to support reports using SQL server analysis services data source.
- Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
