SOLUTIONS LEADER I

Reports to: Vice President Risk Management
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Essential Duties
- Provide training, direction and coaching of staff in fostering a sales and service culture.
- Ensure all account collection activity, including collateral repossession, mortgage foreclosure, liquidation, bankruptcy, and subsequent charge off process meets credit union, state, and Federal regulations.
- Supervise entire Solutions staff. Schedules and delegates departmental activities to ensure accomplishment of required tasks. Assist staff with the performance of their assigned duties.
- Monitor performance and service standards of the Solutions Department and ensures standards are being met.
- Manage all collection related service vendors, including contract management and vendor due diligence.
- Accountable for the overall handling of the CPI program, processes, procedures, training, and contracts
Duties and Responsibilities

- Deliver on the Credit Union’ Service Promises in every service situation.
- Foster a positive working environment for employee empowerment through coaching and support.
- Manage all aspects of the Solutions Department operations.
- Monitor and analyze economic conditions and collection trends affecting the credit union and recommend appropriate action.
- Ensure collection policies and procedures are legal and best serve the credit union and its members.
- Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Promotes and participates in a sales and service culture consistent with the credit union’s goal of making a positive difference in the lives of our members.
- Analyze financial situation of delinquent borrowers; provide financial counseling to past due members; take action to repossess collateral when arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful or unsustainable.
- Arrange the sale of repossess collateral; determine additional investment in collateral.
- Formulate and maintain a collections procedure manual for the department that is up-to-date, with all regulations and requirements. Ensure staff training and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of general economic conditions or changing trends that may affect the credit union. Provide timely feedback that allows the credit union to react competitively.
- Provide input and recommendations to VP of Risk Management regarding activities of the Solutions Department.
- Develop, analyze, and complete monthly reports for the Board of Directors and Leadership. Develop procedures and reporting tools for effective information to flow through the department.
- Provide written documentation of policy and procedural violations or inadequate performance of employees and recommends disciplinary action to the Vice President of Risk Management before action is taken.
- Inform Senior Leadership of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged off loans.
- Testify at legal proceedings, as required.
- Must be bondable.

Performance Measurements
- Maintain the credit union’s charge-off and delinquent accounts at or below levels established in the business plan.
- Maximize the collection and/or recovery of credit union assets from delinquent and charged-off accounts.
- Maintain a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily department demands.
- Ensure all collection activity is legal and follows credit union policy, keeping management informed of operational issues affecting the credit union’s collection activities.
- Develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to policies, procedures, and processes by monitoring trends in collections.
- Note observations of employee performance and give/receive feedback from employees on same. Complete performance reviews within the prescribed timeframe
