Qualifications:
- Graphic design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
- Experience developing or working within established brands
- Ability to prepare professional, print-ready files
- Ability to adapt designs for print, digital and social platforms
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet production deadlines
- Newspaper, publication, advertising or marketing design experience is a plus
This is a remote freelance position with hourly compensation based on experience, starting at $20 per hour.
Hours will vary based on advertising volume, production schedules, special projects and client needs.

The Munising Beacon is a locally owned weekly newspaper committed to strong community journalism and serving the businesses, organizations, schools and residents of Alger County and the surrounding Upper Peninsula.
