Project Manager - Automotive Engineering Programs (Contract, Hybrid)
Location: Allen Park, MI (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Automotive Engineering to support complex vehicle programs in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This contract role focuses on project coordination, change management, and engineering program delivery for electrical systems and vehicle development.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage project management software deployment and support program managers and analysts
Lead change management (DCRs), ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
Track product development milestones (GPDS), identifying risks and preventing delays
Oversee release management for electrical components (ECUs, wiring harnesses), ensuring readiness for production
Coordinate systems integration and interface agreements across engineering teams
Monitor WERS and Teamcenter data for BOM accuracy, part releases, and engineering changes
Consolidate and manage multiple program timelines and model year plans
Provide guidance to supplier teams and communicate effectively with senior leadership
Resolve issues proactively in a matrixed organization with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in automotive project management or engineering program support
Strong knowledge of GPDS, BOM management, and engineering release processes
Experience with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and vehicle launch programs
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Work Environment:
Hybrid schedule (Monday-Thursday onsite)
