- Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

About the Opportunity
Smurfit Westrock is a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions. As a Safety Associate, you will support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs while helping drive a zero-injury safety culture across warehouse and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of company-wide safety and health strategy
- Assist in accident investigations and root cause analysis
- Promote proactive safety practices and regulatory compliance
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and daily walkthroughs
- Lead safety meetings and training sessions across all shifts
- Ensure DOT, OSHA, and forklift safety compliance
- Track and report EHS performance metrics
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute safety improvement plans
- Maintain documentation for audits, compliance, and reporting
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of safety experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial settings
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred)
- OSHA 30+, DOT compliance, and safety training experience
- Experience with accident investigation and root cause analysis
- CPR/AED/First Aid certifications (preferred)
- Strong leadership and ability to train teams (35–45 employees)
- Bilingual skills (a plus)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and warehouse work environments
- Standing, walking, and computer use required
- Exposure to warehouse conditions, noise, and equipment
- Required use of PPE (safety shoes, vest, gloves, eye/hearing protection, etc.)
Work Environment
- Industrial/warehouse setting with active operations
- Safety-focused culture with regulatory compliance standards
