Manufacturing Engineer - Die Engineering (Die Process)
Location: Dearborn, MI
Pay Rate: $36.67 per hour
Work Schedule: Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer - Die Process to support stamping and die engineering activities across the product development lifecycle. This role plays a key part in ensuring stamped components are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality expectations from concept through production launch.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead early stamping process feasibility studies using integrated CAD/CAE tools
Develop and maintain draw die CAD designs and construction release documentation
Perform stamping process simulations to evaluate formability, dimensional accuracy, and production readiness
Support die design teams during tool construction, tryout, and issue resolution
Optimize stamping and machining processes to improve quality, cost, and manufacturability
Drive Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for new and updated stamped components
Coordinate cross-functionally to resolve manufacturing feasibility concerns during product development
Maintain and update die process documentation for carry-over and modified part releases
Support on-site launch activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
3+ years of manufacturing or die process experience, including die design, construction, or tryout
Hands-on experience with stamping and machining processes
Proficiency with stamping simulation software such as AutoForm, LS-DYNA, or ESI PamStamp
CAD experience required; CATIA V5 and Teamcenter experience preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
