The Position
Prospective instructors should have a strong gymnastics background and feel comfortable working with small children up to more experienced students. Experience teaching is required. Must be confident, professional, and able to have constant communication with parents. Instructors should demonstrate excellent control over the classroom while maintaining a fun and inviting atmosphere. Attached resume and work availability is recommended (including any experience pertaining to gymnastics, cheer, or pom, work experience, leadership roles and other relevant information).
Major Job Responsibilities
- Ensure high quality programs that are results-based driven, with proper planning and engaging, age appropriate lesson plans.
- Monitor children’s skills and progress through program appropriately.
- Maintain verbal and written communication with parents of student’s level and progression.
- Teach and progress children safely and appropriately through all aspects and disciplines of gymnastics.
- Foster a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, members, and Greater Midland Staff.
- Ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are secured for each program session.
- Ensure that character development is present in all programs (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).
- Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and center goals/objectives.
- Consistently demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum age of 16
- CPR/First Aid/AED, preferred
- Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to demonstrate gymnastics movements that are required from their students. Instructors must be capable of lifting small children when necessary. Instructors must demonstrate and execute proper spotting during stunts of all levels.
Salary
Hourly wage of $11.67-$13.73
