The Position
Under the direction of the Camp Director a Lead Camp Counselor will assume a leadership role within the summer camps program. They will take responsibility for the health, safety, and general welfare of the campers under their supervision. Implement procedures that enhance the quality of the program and provide a safe, structured environment for the campers.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Lead a variety of activities, including: Singing, sports, games, nature, crafts & swimming.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Camp Counselors.
- Communicate effectively with Counselors, Campers, Parents and the Camp Director.
- Account for all assigned campers at all times.
- Follow the daily schedule.
- Maintain discipline and safety.
- Be positive, demonstrate enthusiasm and show engagement with campers at all times.
- Keep the Camp Director or Camp Lead informed of all special problems and needs.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years or older
- CPR/First Aid/AED
- Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- At least 1 year of camp experience; preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Bending, twisting, and reaching required
- Ability to continuously physically engage at a child’s level

Salary
- Hourly wage of $14.00 - $15.25 per hour
Schedule
- Monday - Friday: 7:00am to 6:00pm / Up to 40 hours weekly, depending on availability
