POSITION SUMMARY:                     

Under general supervision of the Director of Services for Persons with Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorder Services, provides clinical and administrative supervision for therapy services of all adults including those with Substance Use Disorder Only and children with mild to moderate mental health needs. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the unit and monitors service delivery for Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCMHA) including facilitating collaboration with internal and community programs. This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery based practices; person centered planning as a shared decision making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and a trauma informed culture of safety to aid persons served in the recovery process.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

Works in office/clinic. Working with individuals with mental illness can be dangerous with possible injury to themselves and others. May counsel individuals who may become potentially violent. Requires travel to multiple locations, sometimes in severe weather.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:      Master’s degree in a mental health related field from an accredited school.

Experience:    Previous supervisory experience in a clinical mental health or related organization preferred. Previous administrative experience preferred. A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant professional clinical experience in mental health treatment programs, serving both adults and children.

Licenses and Certifications:    Valid Michigan Driver’s license with a good driving record. A licensed master’s social worker (LMSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), and licensed psychologist (LP).
