Position Overview

The Cashier/Stocker provides essential customer service support at the checkout while maintaining clean, organized, and visually appealing front-end displays. This role includes operating the cash register, bagging groceries, restocking merchandise, and ensuring a positive customer experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Front-End Support

• Deliver excellent customer service in a friendly, helpful, and timely manner

• Assist in managing customer flow and reducing wait times during peak hours

• Answer customer questions, phone calls, and pages with professionalism

• Follow all checkout procedures including handling tenders, using PLUs/UPCs, tares, and verifying age for alcohol sales

Cash Handling & Register Operations

• Operate POS system accurately and efficiently

• Bag groceries neatly and according to product safety guidelines

• Report pricing or signage errors immediately

• Maintain compliance with store and state regulations

Stocking & Merchandising

• Restock shelves and checkout displays as needed

• Rotate products to ensure freshness and reduce waste

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

• Assist in display organization and product presentation

Safety & Sanitation

• Follow all safety procedures and sanitation standards

• Safely use equipment such as box cutters, knives, and pallet jacks

• Ensure work areas remain clutter-free and hazard-free

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Standing/walking 6–8 hours per shift

• Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling

• Ability to work in varying temperatures:

  • Freezer (<32°F)

  • Refrigerated areas (32–40°F)

  • Warm environments (>90°F)

• Ability to work in wet or dry conditions

• Must use tools such as box cutters, knives, pallet jacks, and ladders

• Flexible availability—nights, weekends, and holidays
