We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Care Team in Highland Park.
Position Overview
The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring providers have accurate, up-to-date patient information to support informed healthcare decisions. As a key member of the clinical team, the MA supports efficient patient flow, assists with diagnostic procedures, and enhances the overall patient experience.
Medical Assistants report to the Practice Manager or Center Operations Specialist and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Patient Support

Ensure efficient patient flow and timely rooming of patients

Record vital signs and complete required health screenings

Perform medication reconciliation

Conduct point-of-care testing including A1C, spirometry, EKGs, and blood draws

Administer vaccinations (per Michigan state regulations)

Provide telephonic patient support (lab results, record transfers, etc.)
Documentation & Compliance

Upload required documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Request external medical records as needed

Conduct routine quality control and infection control checks

Monitor equipment and ensure expired medications/supplies are removed

Assist in maintaining center laboratory standards
Operations & Team Collaboration

Stock and inventory exam rooms
-
Process durable medical equipment (DME) orders

Participate in care team meetings

Support clinic workflow and operations as needed
Required Qualifications
-
State or national Medical Assistant certification (as required by Michigan) OR graduation from an accredited MA program

Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience

CPR or BLS Certification

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience

Strong computer skills (Gmail, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets)

U.S. work authorization

Language proficiency based on clinic demographic needs (if applicable)

3+ years of experience in a Medical Assistant role

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $18.50 – $35.29 per hour
Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, geographic location, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses or incentive programs.
