We are seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe (internally known as a Clinic Informatics Specialist – CIS) to support our providers and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of clinical documentation.
Position Overview
The Medical Scribe supports primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time, allowing providers to focus fully on delivering exceptional care.
Beyond traditional scribing, this role involves clinical documentation improvement, coding support, and population health insights. Scribes become experts in value-based care documentation, chronic condition management, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and care gap closure strategies.
This role is ideal for candidates pursuing careers in medicine, physician assistant studies, nurse practitioner programs, public health, healthcare administration, health informatics, or medical coding.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Documentation (Approx. 80%)

Accompany providers into exam rooms to observe patient encounters

Document structured clinical notes including:

Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes

Prepare After Visit Summaries (AVS)

Consult with providers to ensure complete and accurate documentation

Participate in daily team huddles to prepare for patient visits
Clinical Documentation Improvement (Approx. 10%)

Request and review external medical records

Support chronic condition documentation accuracy

Assist with care gap identification and closure

Contribute to population health documentation initiatives
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in health-related field)

Strong written communication skills

Typing proficiency and ability to document in real time

Comfort working in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems

Strong attention to detail

U.S. work authorization
Preferred Qualifications

Pre-med, pre-PA, pre-NP, or health sciences track

Experience in medical terminology

Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding

Experience in healthcare or clinical settings

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 – $28.46 per hour
Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, geographic location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
