We are seeking a data architect to assist us with managing a large electronic health record data repository of data on patients with ocular diseases. The data architect will tap into EPIC Clarity to extract relevant clinical variables from the EPIC electronic health record, clean and organize the data in a format to facilitate analysis of the data. The data architect will also assist with linking data from the repository to other internal and external data sources including working with IT staff at other academic institutions to facilitate data extraction from their Oracle or MS SQL Server EPIC Clarity databases to incorporate such data into the multicenter repository we are building.
- Design and development of complex database queries for researchers
- Extract data from Clarity
- Join data from various systems, disparate databases into a cohesive set for analytics
- Maintain documentation of decisions made during the build of SQL queries
- Adhere to data quality processes to ensure product is valid and reproducible
- Work with a team of diverse, motivated individuals toward a shared mission
Data Architect Lead
- Proficiency in Oracle Database, PL/SQL or MS SQL T-SQL
- Minimum 5 years' of professional experience.
- 3 years experience with MS SQL Server
- Comfort translating code for SQL servers to Oracle servers and vice versa
- Strong analytical, time-management, problem-solving and decision making abilities
- Experience with translating information requirements into SQL code
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with competing data needs
- Candidate must be committed to data security and the protection of sensitive information with demonstrated knowledge of applicable data use and sharing safeguards
- Proactive and creative techniques in solving researchers? problems
- Positive attitude, ability to work well with others and independently
- Proficiency using Python
Data Architect Senior
- Minimum 3 years' of professional experience.
- Comfort translating code for SQL servers to Oracle servers and vice versa
- Strong analytical, time-management, problem-solving and decision making abilities
- Experience with translating information requirements into SQL code
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with competing data needs

Data Architect Lead
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent fields of study
- Proficiency certification with EPIC training
- 5-10 years of experience directly related to the responsibilities specified
- Proficiency with Oracle databases, PL/SQL, or MS SQL Server T-SQL
- Knowledge of Tableau, SAS, R, a plus
Data Architect Senior
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent fields of study
- 5-10 years experience directly related to the responsibilities specified
- Knowledge of Tableau, D3.js, SAS, R, a plus
