SEC Reporting Manager [Hybrid] | The Shyft Group (TSG) | Novi, MI

What you'll do:
As the SEC Reporting Manager based at our headquarters in Novi, MI, you will be instrumental in crafting and critically examining regulatory documents such as 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings, while spearheading in-depth technical accounting research and providing nuanced analysis of emerging accounting standards and SEC regulatory frameworks.
Hybrid schedule is very flexible once the individual is fully trained and comfortable with systems and responsibilities.
You will also:
Prepare and review of quarterly and annual SEC financial statements with precise XBRL tagging
Validate financial statements to meet SEC requirements and ensure consistent presentation of financial data
Oversee the preparation and submission of critical SEC filings
Ensure accuracy of SEC filing submissions across 8-K's, Proxy, and supplementary documents
Partner cross-functionally with legal, tax, investor relations, and treasury teams
Conduct in-depth research on accounting complexities and assess their disclosure impact
Contribute to the preparation of technical accounting memorandums
Manage the company's lease accounting, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts,
Ensure adherence to the corporate internal control framework
Maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
Serve as internal control owner for SEC reporting and lease accounting
Assess internal control deficiencies, propose corrective actions, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
Manage end-to-end disclosure control protocols for internal financial reporting
Participate in special projects as needed, including M&A transactions

What you need to be successful:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
Five or more (5+) years of accounting and financial statement reporting experience
Solid technical accounting expertise
Strong knowledge of SEC, GAAP, and SOX requirements
Ability to clearly and concisely document technical accounting matters
Experience with communicating financial impact to stakeholders
Proven history of building, maintaining, and managing relationships across all levels
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proactive mindset and ability to communicate effectively
Detail oriented and a reputation for maintaining accurate reporting and meeting deadlines
Versed in Microsoft 365, including Excel
