Evidence Clerk

Duties:

• Provides trial support by coordinating the collection, review, redaction, and distribution of audio/visual evidence.
• Works with the Prosecuting Attorney to obtain evidentiary materials from law enforcement, including patrol and body-worn camera footage, 911 dispatch calls, private surveillance, and cell phone forensics.
• Prepares evidence for courtroom use, defense disclosure, and FOIA compliance.
• Serves as a point of contact for both police agencies and defense counsel for evidence-related matters.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Communications or related field, and one year in a criminal justice related agency or program, preferably working with audio/visual materials; OR
• Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Communications, or related field, and three years in a criminal justice related agency or program, preferably working with audio/visual materials.

Special Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license with access to a reliable vehicle throughout the course of employment.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, including drug testing prior to employment.
