Lifeguard - Seasonal/ Part-Time

• $14.50/ Hour
• This temporary, part-time position allows for a maximum of 1,000 hours per calendar year. It does not include any benefits.
• Positions available Memorial Day through mid-August. 

Duties:

• Lifeguards are employed primarily for the protection of swimmers and control of beach activities at Silver Beach County Park.
• Monitors beach and water related activities.
• Enforces park rules and regulations that discourage unsafe beach and water activities.
• Provides necessary rescue and emergency care for accident victims; provides appropriate first aid.
• Participates in regular training and employee improvement.

Required:

• Must be at least 16 years of age with valid identification.
• Current certifications of training for Red Cross Lifeguard Training or equivalent and CPR for Adult, Infant and Child.
• Must pass both written and physical tests demonstrating individual physical fitness and knowledge of water rescue techniques.
• An employee in this class is required to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis and is required to wear a department-issued uniform while on the job.

Reimbursement Opportunity:

• Partial reimbursement for certification in Lifeguard Training will be distributed at the end of the season if employee works a minimum of 20 hours a week from June through the end of the season (approximately mid-August) and can provide receipt of payment for certification.

Desired:

• Prior lifeguarding experience.
