Position: Member Relationship Representative I
Employment Status: Grade 6 / Non-Exempt
Reports to: Branch Leader
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission, vision, and brand promise. You will do this by living out our core values in every service contact to both internal and external members. Essential Duties

Deliver on the Credit Union’s Promises in every service situation

Develop and maintain an effective level of product knowledge

Identify members’ financial needs and recommend appropriate Credit Union solutions

Inform members of loans available within the Lending Policies of the credit union
-
Increase loan volume by cross-selling additional loan products using member information and/or credit reports
-
Open new accounts, IRA accounts, certificates of deposit, and other share and sub-accounts

Promote MFCU products and services to new and potential members

Actively participate in the community and promote the credit union through business and charitable activities

Travel to other branches as needed for staffing coverage

Work scheduled weekday hours and provide Saturday coverage as needed

Successfully obtain Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation within the first year
Duties and Responsibilities

Determine members’ product and service needs and recommend solutions
-
Process cash and check transactions and balance cash drawers as needed

Handle account inquiries, check orders, and collect service fees

Sell Visa Gift/Travel Cards and cashier’s checks/money orders

Contact delinquent members regarding past-due payments
New Accounts

Explain credit union products and services in detail

Process documentation and collect required deposits for new accounts

Assist with auditing of new accounts

Prepare adverse action letters when products are denied

Maintain knowledge of IRA regulations and paperwork
General Sales Expectations

Use effective Sales Champion skills and behaviors

Participate in promotions and meet assigned service goals

Build and expand member relationships

Support onboarding process for new members

Apply FiCEP financial counseling concepts effectively
