Position Overview:
As the Commercial Lending/Services Director I, you will help Members First Credit Union deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. You will lead the Commercial Lending team and provide strategic direction, driving performance and service excellence while adhering to our brand promise: We believe in you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Commercial Lending team, overseeing all functions of the department including sales, operations, credit, and business development.
- Maintain and grow loan portfolios, ensuring member satisfaction through timely responses to loan requests, renewals, and delinquencies.
- Implement the Commercial Services Strategic Plan, ensuring performance metrics are achieved.
- Stay informed on business lending terms and practices, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate across departments to foster a culture of continuous improvement aligned with our strategic goals.
- Maintain knowledge of economic trends affecting the credit union’s business loan operations and provide feedback for competitive positioning.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Manage the Credit Department staff, ensuring job responsibilities are assigned and completed.
- Provide feedback and mentoring to team members, conducting performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Ensure annual reviews and risk assessments of loans are conducted in a timely manner.
- Oversee the use of business lending software to optimize department efficiency.
- Represent the credit union in networking opportunities and industry-related events to foster partnerships and growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry certifications.
- Experience: 5-8 years of similar or related experience, including 3 years of leadership experience.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
