Position: Float Member Service Representative I
Employment Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Float Branch Leader
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Essential Duties
- Provide trustworthy, caring, and enthusiastic member service by processing transactions, including cash and checks, deposits, transfers, and loan payments.
- Assist members with account maintenance and changes.
- Collaborate with branch staff to cross-sell products and services, increasing member engagement.
- Ensure security and compliance procedures are followed in all transactions.
- Adapt to specific needs and dynamics of various branches while maintaining consistent service quality.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and ensure follow-through with member requests.
- Be open to feedback and adaptable in communication with leaders and members.
- Be available to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Saturday business hours as scheduled, and attend meetings or training outside of normal hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed in this position. Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Build member relationships by identifying needs and recommending additional Credit Union products and services.
- Remind delinquent members about due payments.
- Process member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments.
- Handle inquiries regarding member accounts, statements, and histories.
- Process check orders as needed.
- Sell Visa Gift and Travel Cards and cashier’s checks/money orders.
- Collect fees for services and handle inquiries over the phone and via mail.
- Support other departments with clerical duties as required.
- Participate in monthly developmental coaching.
General Sales Expectations
- Build relationships with new and existing members, offering products and services to improve their financial well-being.
- Actively participate in Credit Union initiatives and promotions, achieving assigned financial service goals.
- Assist with the onboarding process to build relationships with new members.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend educational functions and Community Difference Projects (CDPs).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transport items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to remain stationary for 2-4 hours at a time.
Work Environment
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Routinely clean and disinfect workspaces, including teller stations, desks, and phones.
- Protect confidentiality by securing sensitive materials when away from the workstation.
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience operating a personal computer.
- Knowledge of Credit Union systems, products, and procedures (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to attain the Financial Counselor Certification (CCUFC) through CUNA within the first six months.

- Preferred: Knowledge of Credit Union systems, products, services, and procedures.
