Job Description:
Open to SEIU Hourly Members and the Public

Major Duties:
- Perform street repair tasks, including asphalt repair, replacement, cement, curb work, and crack filling.
- Operate equipment such as pickup trucks, air compressors, air tools, pavement saws, chippers, and related machinery.
- Conduct manual labor tasks: catch basin cleaning, snow shoveling, raking, litter cleanup, sweeping, emptying litter cans, rat baiting, hydrant painting, mowing, etc.
- Perform related duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Licenses: Valid Michigan Driver’s License (must be maintained).
- Experience:
- Familiarity with the City’s street system.
- Experience in manual labor tasks.
- Basic experience operating equipment such as pickup trucks, one-ton mini dump trucks, and bobcats.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., manhole entry, rat baiting).
- Acceptable attendance record.

- Working Conditions:
- Willing and able to work outdoors 95% of the time in all weather conditions.
- Drive equipment on various street conditions.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies (e.g., snow and ice control).
- Perform tasks in adverse conditions (e.g., rat baiting).
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
