Fixed Asset Analyst III
The Fixed Assets Analyst III is responsible for the oversight of Comerica's capital project accounting and analysis including (but not limited to): monitoring and reconciling the Construction in Progress account, processing asset capitalizations through daily work and projects, coding invoices received from vendors and communicating effectively with internal partners on an ongoing basis. The role will process internal/external entries, completes month-end closing account analyses, and publish monthly reports.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitor & Maintain the Construction in Progress Account:
Review new project requests, confirm accuracy, and approve creation of capital projects in Workday.
Update and distribute monthly agendas and aging reports to IT, RE, and Retail.
Collaborate with project managers and assist with any project related issues.
Month-End Journal Entries & Account Reconciliation:
Post asset or project-related journal entries calculated by Business Finance or other departments, as needed to support the Accounting team.
Complete monthly roll-forward reports.
Research and report on preliminary and final depreciation variances.
Review small equipment account for accuracy.
Prepare monthly reconciliations.
Daily Analytical:
Process vendor invoices related to asset accounts.
Perform asset related activities including registration, transfers, and disposals.
Review daily expense account items for potential capital assets.
Post any necessary adjustments/journal entries.
Coverage:
Serve as back up for other Fixed Assets team members:
Complete analytical reports as necessary.
Prepare and post retirements.
Code invoices within 48-hour timeframe.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Accounting or Finance Major or 4 years of relevant experience
2 years of experience in Accounting Operations, such as Fixed Assets or General Accounting
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. This position offers a hybrid work model that includes onsite and remote days as determined by the manager. Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
