Position Summary
Delta College is seeking a talented and dynamic FM Production Content Producer to serve as an on-air production/talent, news anchor, and provide technical assistance for WUCX-FM radio. This position is integral to producing high-quality audio content, coordinating daily operations, and fostering relationships with community producers. The successful candidate will actively participate in fundraising pledge drives and represent the station at community events, contributing to Delta College Public Media’s mission and outreach.
Responsibilities and Duties
Broadcast Operations/Radio:
- Manage daily operations of Delta College Public Radio (WUCX-FM).
- Monitor and ensure broadcast quality of all local audio productions from community producers, students, and faculty.
- Acquire and record programming assets from national and regional sources.
- Coordinate automated broadcast schedules to ensure uninterrupted programming.
- Prepare and maintain daily program logs, including feature programs, underwriting announcements, and public service announcements.
- Maintain weekly records of underwriters and public service announcements.
- Provide affidavits of performance as needed for business underwriters.
Production/Talent:
- Serve as the on-air voice talent and host of the Morning Edition.
- Write and voice promotional interstitial spots for WUCX-FM programs.
- Produce daily audio content for broadcast and non-broadcast needs, including promotional announcements, news reports, weather updates, and program-length shows.
- Write and produce promotional materials for Delta College events and Public Media programming.
- Coordinate membership drive programs and serve as the primary on-air voice talent during fundraising campaigns.
Management and Supervision:
- Supervise student workers and interns.
- Assist community producers with program production needs.
- Support the program manager and membership coordinator during fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Business Relations Coordinator to create advertising for pledge drives and underwriting opportunities.
- Coordinate and maintain Delta College Public Radio’s social media presence.
- Represent WUCX-FM during public events, including evening and weekend engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in Broadcasting, Journalism, or Communications.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a related position.
Additional Experiences Considered
- Four-year degree in a related field of study.
- Extensive professional experience in broadcasting or related fields.
