Position Summary
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion in students, faculty, and staff.
Delta College is looking for a fun and energetic Duck Mascot to join our team! The Duck Mascot will help cheer on teams, entertain students and guests, and spread school spirit at events. If you love being in the spotlight and making people smile, this job is perfect for you!
Responsibilities and Duties
- Cheer at Events: Attend sports games, school events, and community activities to energize the crowd and build school spirit.
- Engage with the Crowd: Take photos with students, families, and fans, interact with event attendees, and spread positive energy.
- Wear the Mascot Costume: Perform in full Duck costume, maintaining enthusiasm and energy throughout events.
- Follow Event Directions: Listen and respond to event coordinators' instructions to ensure smooth execution of activities.
- Be a Team Player: Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and event coordinators to enhance school spirit and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Outgoing Personality: Enjoy interacting with people and creating a fun atmosphere.
- Good Physical Condition: Comfortable with dancing, moving around, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and Punctual: Ability to arrive on time and be ready to perform.
- Comfort with Performing: Confidence performing in front of large crowds.
- Height Requirement: Must meet manufacturer standards to fit in the costume (between 5’4” and 5’9” in height).
- Flexibility: Must be available for evening and weekend events as required.
Additional Experiences Considered
- Prior experience in theater, cheerleading, dance, or related performance activities.
