Job Description SummaryFacilitates the purchase of electronics / mechatronics direct material components. This includes evaluating quotations and selecting suppliers for products that meet required financial requirements and are in line with the global category strategy.
Job Description
Responsible for all current production electronics / mechatronics spend and sourcing of components on time, under defined procurement budget, and with adherence to AAM procurement policy and procedures.
Partner with matched set counterparts from product engineering and supplier quality to identify, study, and implement cost saving initiatives.
Complete purchase requisitions, issue blanket purchase agreements, and make updates to purchase agreements as required throughout program lifecycles.
Enter supplier tooling requisitions and issue supplier tooling purchase orders as required.
Quoting and negotiating all program and component related changes within predefined timing.
Lead negotiations for any non-standard commercial terms with supply base as required.
Monitor key supplier performance criteria related to commercial, quality, and delivery metrics. Push for continuous improvement from strategic suppliers.
Support procurement program and supplier quality teams to ensure that all suppliers meet program deliverables.
Coordinate / Support Technical reviews with matched set counterparts as required.
Support outstanding supplier payment issues as they arise.
Support continuity of supply issues as they arise for all AAM manufacturing facilities.
Required Skills and Education
BA/BS in Finance, Business or Supply Chain Management plus 2-4 years professional experience in automotive direct material purchasing.
