Primary Responsibilities
Our team focuses on the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, collection systems and pipelines and/or water resource management. The ideal candidate will have a technical interest and be responsible for assisting and preparing plans for water and wastewater systems, writing specifications, performing analyses, and assembling study-level reports. Candidate may also be involved in determining appropriate design methods as well as equipment sizing and selection in coordination with other HDR staff and clients.
As a Water/Wastewater EIT, this is a great opportunity to work on projects that could include gravity sanitary sewers and force mains, water distribution and transmission pipelines, water and wastewater pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and related infrastructure projects. Additional duties could include technical investigation and analysis of various detailed studies and preparing reports relating to equipment, stormwater management, drainage system infrastructure, watershed and water supply planning, field work/investigation, and other environmental matters in the area of water resource management. Provide hydrologic/hydraulic modeling support for stormwater improvement projects, master plans, flood studies, and similar water resource management projects. Additional responsibilities may include:
Support and advise civil/process water engineers and technical staff in other disciplines and sections; complete technical analysis, write reports and technical memorandums, coordinate with sub-consultants, support senior staff to maintain project schedules and budgets, and produce documents in accordance with project scopes and quality program procedures.
May have periodic contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks.
Carry out site reconnaissance visits and develop permit application documents and drawings.
Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other Water Engineering field required.
0 - 2 years of project experience, focus on pump stations and pipelines, water/wastewater treatment, or water resources preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite for technical writing.
Must have excellent communication skills and thrive working in a team environment.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulics applications, the design and analysis of stormwater management facilities, storm sewers and watersheds preferred.
Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for storm, sanitary, water distribution systems using software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HydraFlow, or other similar.
