Role & Responsibilities:
Candidates must possess technical-oriented skills with high precision and attention to detail.
Desk-side support experience required
Provide direction to solutions involving database activities including physical structure, functional capabilities, security, and backup/recovery specifications.
Provide maintenance of database dictionaries, the overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and the integration of systems through the database design process.
Consult, coordinate, and communicate with business units and IT staff providing solutions and recommendations that integrate with current and future database, application, and infrastructure architectures.
Design, test, implement, monitor, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database systems to meet organizational availability and security requirements.
Code and implement database definitions and descriptions; develop and administer database utility routines for verifying the validity of data element values, optimizing performance, backing up and recovering data sources, and maintaining the integrity of the organization's database systems.
Provide database requirements, design, installation, support, and problem resolution.
Provide technical documentation, expertise, training, and consulting related to database creation, maintenance, and uses.

Tasks for Database Administrator will include but not be limited to:
Principles and practices of the functions performed by IT Services
Oracle and SQL Server relational database management system
Concepts, practices, and procedures (COBIT and ITIL), including Change Management, Software/Systems Development Life Cycle for IT systems development and management.
Hardware, software, application, database, and network environments currently in use typically at utilities.
Principles and techniques of systems analysis, design, and development lifecycle
Installation and maintenance of application and database components
Water and wastewater business functions and operations
Code and implement database definitions and descriptions; develop and administer database utility routines for verifying the validity of data element values, optimizing performance, backing up and recovering data sources, and maintaining the integrity of the organization's database systems.
Responsible for capacity planning and management, security planning and management, data management, systems maintenance, and performance management of one or more systems
Perform database maintenance (table reorganizations, database compaction, and generating index statistics)
Develop and maintain database disaster recovery processes.
Complete Data model design and maintenance
Generate DDL (data definition language)
Define technical database design and implementation approaches for IT projects.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Computer Science or Related Field (4 years of experience in lieu).
Required Skills:
Ability to resolve technical issues and respond to support requests supporting team members on various software applications, hardware, and operating systems on Windows and Android devices.
Provide direction to solutions involving database activities including physical structure, functional capabilities, security, and backup/recovery specifications.
Provide maintenance of database dictionaries, the overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and the integration of systems through the database design process.
