Pharmacy Technician duties in the Operating Room Pharmacy area may include:
- Prepare sterile products, injections and IV chemotherapy for use during the peri-operative period
- Deliver medications as needed to surgical rooms
- Correctly distribute and account for controlled substance usage
- Assist the Pharmacist with auditing controlled substance utilization
- Stock medications shelves, manage inventory dating, return excess stock to inventory
- Fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
- Prepare and package non-sterile compounded pharmaceuticals
- Prepare and deliver investigational drugs per research protocols
- Assist with training of staff
- Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications
Pharmacy Technician Associate:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable
- Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
- Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary
Pharmacy Technician Intermediate:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable
- Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
- Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary
- One or more years of relevant pharmacy practice or equivalent experience is necessary.
Pharmacy Technician Senior:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable
- Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
- Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary.
- Two or more years of relevant pharmacy practice or equivalent experience is necessary.
This is a part time position. The schedule for this position includes a day and evening shift rotation, working every second weekend (Saturday and Sunday), and holiday coverage. You will rotate between the University Hospital (Ann Arbor), the Cardiovascular Center (Ann Arbor) and our newerst facility, Brighton Center for Specialty Care.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
