Dental Informatics is charged with providing and supporting information technology to faculty, students, and staff to further the School of Dentistry’s teaching, research, and healthcare missions. This role will be key in helping the School of Dentistry collect mission-critical data, observe, synthesize and improve clinical processes, develop, test and deploy efficient high-tech, modern solutions.

40% Analyze business and clinical information needs for Dental School clinics with a concentration on the School of Dentistry electronic health record (EHR).
Document and recommend solutions for clinic operations, including patient flow and information needs of clinicians, as it pertains to our patient electronic health record (EHR), digital imaging systems, data warehouse, etc.
Immersion in the environment is critical for developing trusting relationships, to observe desired use of technology, including in clinics with patients present to provide chair-side support, testing, and feedback.
Research potential solutions from cloud service providers and vendors, facilitate demos, assess options, document proposals, and recommendations.

35% Support, enhance, and implement solutions for faculty, staff, and students related to Patient Care, Research, and Academics.
With a service delivery approach, provide hands-on operational support to our clinicians, researchers, and departments in a manner that combines efficacy and credibility.
Provide solutions and support for the information needs related to MiDent, research, data warehouse reporting, and workflow across the school; present options for improvement, automation, or adoption of migrations to new services.
Analyze with a mindset of continuous improvement including data analysis and writing ad hoc reports to address needs, train, maintain, fix, or update services and MiDent as needed.
Draft mockups, run experiments, use qualitative and quantitative analysis, map processes and make suggestions for improvement.
Write test plans and create test cases for functionality, user experience, system performance, time studies, data quality, and user acceptance of systems, services, and upgrades.

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or an equivalent combination of education and
experience is required.
Related experience of three years minimum.
