We are seeking a certified and licensed Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide inpatient care coverage at Mott Hospital, providing:
- Assessment and treatment of children with speech, language, feeding/swallowing delayed or disordered development.
- Education of families regarding communication and feeding/swallowing development and methods of improving function.
- Examine, test, diagnose and administer remedial treatments for patients with speech disorders.
- Evaluate patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language and oral motor disorders.
- Record speech samples and conduct phonetic analyses of speech ability.
- Document test results and recommend remedial treatment.
- Perform evaluation with special attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation and auditory skills.
- Confer with associates and institutes treatment utilizing corrective exercises and special equipment.
- Maintain active and supportive communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, home programs and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
- Analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.
- M.A. or M.S. In Speech-Language Pathology
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan is necessary.
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), or, eligibility to initiate a Clinical Fellowship
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with medical and allied health professionals within an interdisciplinary team
Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00
