Laboratory technician working at the state-of-the-art laboratories for animal metabolic phenotyping services.
The candidate will carry out in vivo physiology/pharmacology experiments in rodent models of metabolic disorders. He/She will be responsible for evaluating metabolic phenotypes in these models, including assessment of whole body energy expenditure and insulin sensitivity using indirect calorimetry and glucose clamps with [3H]- and [14C]- labeled tracers. In addition, the candidate will be cross-trained in other activities of the Core, in particular, body composition analysis, treadmill exercise training and behavioral studies with rodents including assessment of locomotion activity, video tracking, testing of cognition and anxiety and operant responding.
BS degree in physiology, pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology, or related discipline; strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communications, and ability to work in team are required. Previous laboratory experience in handling mice and rats is preferable.
M-F, 8 hour/days, with some weekends as needed.
