A laboratory in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, is seeking a full-time research laboratory specialist. Successful applicants will participate in our studies exploring the role of innate immune factors in vascular disease and thrombosis.
- This position will especially focus on the mouse aspects of our research program and requires an individual who can perform mouse recovery surgeries.
- The candidate should be highly motivated and organized, with the ability to help develop, design, and conduct research projects according to plan. The position will also require an individual who can:
- Participate in formulating research methods and suggest options for improving existing methodology.
- Work independently on collection of data and analysis of research results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, biochemistry or a related field is required, as is previous experience working with mice. A minimum of 1-3 years of expereince required.
A Master’s degree or PhD in biology, genetics, or a related field is preferred. Experience with tissue culture techniques, biochemistry (western blotting, protein purification), and immunohistochemistry will be helpful.
