Are you skilled at creating and delivering engaging and comprehensive diversity programs? Are you passionately committed to the values of diversity, inclusion, and equity? If so, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is looking for you! We are searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leader to join our Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of multi-faceted comprehensive DEI programming coordinated through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI). The Equity and Inclusion Director will support the Chief Diversity Officer in the development and implementation of the DEI strategies, such as the Equity Action Plan, and Let’s Get Working Campaign, and be the point of contact for departmental DEI Leads throughout the college. The Equity and Inclusion Director works collaboratively with academic, administrative and student leaders to develop and implement ODI initiatives aimed at advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the learning and working environments across faculty and staff at the college. With a comprehensive understanding of a range of diversity issues and resources related to human rights, equal opportunity laws and demonstrated experience advancing equity within an educational or organizational setting, the incumbent educates, informs, and advances principles and values of equity, diversity, and inclusivity through training, outreach and the provision of advice and information. This position will have leadership responsibilities and supervise two diversity project coordinators and Equity & Inclusion Lead Support.
This position will serve as a resource and consultant regarding racial equity, diversity, and inclusion policies, procedures, and practices. This position will collaborate with both internal and external partners/stakeholders to develop strategies that address racism as a public health crisis. Assist with providing consultation and technical assistance on implementing an equity lens into programs, policies, and procedures to internal and external stakeholders. Develop metrics and analyze data that identifies opportunities to improve policies and practices. In addition, the E&I Director will develop and deliver equity training to internal and external stakeholders to promote the Office of Diversity and Inclusion through equity and inclusion initiatives.
This position works closely with Human Resources, Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) professional development opportunities for faculty, Student Affairs Intervention Services for Underrepresented Students, Risk Management Office, the College’s equity leaders and various campus representatives to ensure appropriate and timely resolution of reported issues, concerns and/or violations and complaints of Prohibited Discrimination and Discriminatory Harassment.
This position works on related professional development and educational and mentorship initiatives for the division and in collaboration with staff and academic administrators. Serves as a support for improving DEI practices.
