STATEMENT OF POSTING: Should there be no fully qualified candidates, this position may be considered for Full Training.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Access Representative ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF*s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:High School/GED
Experience:1 year in an office clerical setting
Other requirements/information: Working Knowledge of standard Mirosoft Office applications and website navigationProblem solvng,
conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skillsRequired to complete all role specific
revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 3 years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.
Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers.
Knowledge of medical terminology
