Position Summary
Post-doctoral research associate in renewable energy engineering. Applications are sought for a postdoctoral research associate to develop and study novel technologies for thermal and chemical energy storage technologies. Successful candidates bring along a well-balanced combination of experimental and analytical capabilities in the thermal and fluid sciences.
Required Degree
Doctorate -Mechanical Engineering
Minimum Requirements
- A doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent analytical skills, in particular the ability to develop analytical and numerical heat and mass transfer models of energy conversion and storage devices, especially applications involving radiative transport
- Experience in developing numerical simulations of heat and mass transfer
- Good background in three or more of the following programming languages: Fortran, C, C++, Matlab, Python,
- Experience in designing, assembling, and testing experimental devices for energy conversion and storage,
- Background in data acquisition and analysis,
- Background in imaging techniques,
- Good English writing and presentation skills,
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Background in X-ray tomography for materials research,
- Background in tomography based numerical simulation,
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in in-situ experimentation under tomographic monitoring,
- Background in thermochemical energy storage,
- Background in electrochemistry.
