Position: Elementary Specialized Classroom Aide
Location: Merrill Elementary School
Reports To: Elementary Principal
Salary: $15.50–$22.75 per hour, depending on experience.
Position Summary:
- Assist student participation within the daily classroom routine.
- Provide group and/or individualized guided practice with classroom tasks, when needed, under the direction of the teacher.
- Facilitate self-directed learning and independence for students within the general education setting.
- Grade-level setting may vary from Kindergarten through 5th grade depending on the needs of the District.
- Perform other duties assigned by administration.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education, equal to 60 semester hours; OR
- Possess an Associate’s Degree or higher; OR
- Have or acquire a passing score on the Basic Skills test, MTTC.
- Must satisfactorily pass:
- Criminal Background Check
- Unprofessional Conduct Background Check
- Personal and business references background check
- Must be willing to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
