Job Details

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Perform therapeutic treatments as outlined and under the guidance of the occupational therapist.
2. Maintain records and reports regarding contact and evaluations with students and other providers.
3. Evaluate, fit, and adjust students' equipment/splints appropriately.
4. Maintain therapy equipment and purchase appropriate equipment for department.
5. Prepare treatment areas and equipment for treatment.
6. Research and order new equipment, as needed, for treatment.
7. Prepare physician prescriptions at beginning of every year and keep updated throughout the year.
8. Repair, adjust, adapt, clean, and maintain equipment.
9. Observe child's progress and report to therapist with suggestions for treatment advancement.
10. Appropriately documents progress toward identified objectives.
11. Communicate student status and needs to the student, the student's family, teachers and other professionals.
12. Maintain therapy files on each child which includes student data, goals, objectives, and progress/assessment reports.
13. Schedule children according to times listed on the child's IEPC.
14. Keep student attendance/Medicaid records.
15. Educate teachers, other professionals and family members about occupational therapy.
16. Attend IEP's and necessary meetings.
17. Make appropriate referrals to other members of the educational support team.
18. Exhibit positive personal, professional, work ethic and high motivation through consistent demonstration of professional work behavior.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the St. Joseph County ISD Administrators.
