Position Summary
The Fingerprint Technician / Human Resources Associate provides essential technical and administrative support to the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) and its constituent districts. Core responsibilities focus on operating the LiveScan fingerprinting system for criminal record background checks, performing high-volume document scanning and digital records management, and completing thorough reference checks.
This role serves as a key contributor to HR digital transformation and compliance, ensuring secure electronic document indexing, accurate database management, and support for the human resources department.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree required; coursework in Human Resources preferred. Five or more years of related experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Experience
- Minimum one year of clerical support experience in a business or educational setting required; Human Resources experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database management software, and Internet applications.
Skills/Other
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with applicants, staff, and the public in a fast-paced office environment.
- Skilled in HR-related technology, including cloud-based databases, document management systems, high-speed scanners, and LiveScan fingerprinting systems; adaptable to evolving technology requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce accurate work.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, teamwork, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to travel as needed while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and meeting all position requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $18.52-$24.40/hr, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Work Schedule: 261 days/7.5 hours per day
Paid Time Off:
- Sick and Personal Business paid time, up to 13 days
