Job Description

The Engineering Group Lead is responsible for implementing continuous improvement for existing capacity, implementing new capacity and ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of the production lines while achieving the highest level of quality, up time, and waste elimination through well established quality maintenance programs and deployment of advanced tools.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of 5–8 SBEs supporting assembly processes
Take manufacturing concepts from initial study through production
Develop process and equipment layouts
Specify equipment and manage installation
Coordinate project activities across Trenton, Dundee, and HQ.
Manage project budgets and ensure funds are used effectively
Own project timing and ensure deliverables stay on schedule
Support the transition of projects into production

Team Responsibilities

Developing and laying out manufacturing processes and equipment
Specifying equipment and managing equipment installation
Supporting projects as they move into production
Managing project timing, costs, and overall execution
Serving as the single point of accountability for the project budget and schedule

Must-Haves

Powertrain or engine knowledge is a must
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of approximately 4 years of relevant experience
Manufacturing environment experience with knowledge of both process and product
Experience designing and/or specifying manufacturing equipment
Strong project management skills, particularly around budget, timing, and delivery
Ability to manage multiple locations and travel between facilities

Preferred

Approximately 5+ years of manufacturing experience
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Teamcenter
Prior experience leading a team or serving as a technical/process lead
