Product Engineer – Engine System Cooling

Role Summary:
The Product Engineer – Engine System Cooling will design, develop, validate, and release automotive cooling components across all stages of vehicle development. In this role, you will lead early component packaging, coordinate simulation and testing, collaborate with suppliers for manufacturability, and support vehicle assembly and post-launch quality initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Manage and release a designated set of cooling components (radiators, condensers, electric fan assemblies, oil coolers, hoses, tubes, valves, and pumps) throughout the vehicle development lifecycle.

Lead early packaging and component development to ensure functional cooling objectives are met.

Coordinate Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), design, prototyping, and testing activities, ensuring clear documentation across all phases.

Partner with suppliers to verify Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and track supplier milestones to ensure part maturity.

Support vehicle assembly and testing operations, directly troubleshooting and resolving component issues discovered on site.

Address post-launch quality concerns and identify continuous improvement and cost-reduction opportunities.
Qualifications:

Associate’s, Technical, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.

0–3 years of engineering experience within automotive, manufacturing, or product development environments.

Hands-on academic project, internship, co-op, or industry experience involving mechanical systems or components.

Core understanding of mechanical systems, thermal/fluid principles, and engineering fundamentals.

Basic familiarity with engineering quality and development processes (DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, APQP, or CAE methodologies).

Strong problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with physical testing, validation, or root cause analysis.

Hands-on participation in technical student projects such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or Robotics.
